Another Flyer that we wanted to keep track after there post graduation from UD. Its awesome to see how many flyers have been successful in pursuing their dreams of making it to the next level they want to compete on. It not only great for them but great for the University of Dayton women basketball program. A great example of a player that followed her dreams making it to the next level was Andrea Hoover. Andrea Hoover arrived to UD in the fall of 2011 as a freshman from Bellbrook Ohio. As a freshman she made her presence felt as well playing in all 30 games and starting 25 of them for the flyers. She was averaging 10 ppg her freshman year where she ended up second in scoring on that team while averaging over 20 minutes per game. By her junior year she was named Atlantic 10 player of the year which was the first player to do so for the University of Dayton. During her junior year she averaged 12.9 ppg for the flyers. Heading into her senior year she was named preseason Atlantic 10 first team and was in the player watch top 50 for the Naismith award. She scored 20 + points in 14 games during her senior season. She was a Sports Management major with hopes of being a College basketball coach. With her successful career at UD it led her to becoming the 31st pick in the 2015 WNBA draft to the Los Angeles Sparks. During her rookie year for the sparks she played in 16 games averaging 14.3 minutes per game and averaged 3.8 ppg during her rookie season. Andrea has struggled with injuries trying to get back on the court and we hope she has quick recoveries and can get back with the team soon!
