Our group had a great opportunity to meet and talk with assistant coach Simon Harris. This was a great experience all around as Simon was great to talk to, he was very approachable and easy going to talk to and there is no question his passion and love for his team. Some background information about Simon is that he joined that Women's basketball staff in June of 2014. This marked his 3rd year of being an assistant for the University of Dayton. But he is no stranger when it comes to Dayton basketball he spent his 3 years previous being an assistant to Archie Miller with the Mens basketball team. Collegiate basketball has always been around Coach Harris as his dad Coached at various Division 1 programs and Simon started off his college basketball career at Elon and then transferred to NC State where he had to sit out a year. After having to sit out Coach Harris became a two time letter winner at NC State. It was great getting to know Coach Harris! Now moving on to the interview side we asked him around 15 questions that lasted right around 20 minutes. Here is a preview of some of the questions asked and his response, this is just a preview and not the whole interview itself.

1.) What were your opinions/recap of this past season?

"This team was a special group who had to go over adversity of a coaching change and offensive change at the beginning of the year and throughout the season, this team made history as being the first team to win both the regular season and tournament A10 Championships and historically one of the best conference season we

have had ending 13-3 in conference play"

2.) What were your goals for this past season?

"Our goals was to win both the regular season title and the tournament title we have never had a team who won both its always been one or the other, but at the beginning of the year we set and speak these goals once and after that not talk about them again and let our play on the court do all the talking"

3.) What are your strengths heading into this season?

"Depth is our biggest strength heading into this season we have a lot of returners coming back and time for players to step up and grow as a player, we have most of our pieces back to this team to reach our goals of winning both titles again and building on this past season."
